Takaful Ikhlas Targets 6 Million Clients For New Hospital & Surgery Cover

MELAKA, April 20 - Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd is targeting six million clients within a year for its latest scheme, IKHLAS Medic Assist Takaful (IMAT), which was launched today in conjunction with Unit Trust Week 2008 being held here.
Its president and chief executive officer, Syed Moheeb Syed Kamarulzaman, described IMAT as a hospitalisation and surgery coverage scheme with 30 benefit features.
It is also the cheapest among similar schemes offered by insurance and takaful firms, he contended.
"We offer five plans under the scheme but clients don't need to fret over which to choose because they all offer the same benefits," he said after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi launched the product.
Syed Moheeb said IMAT clients will have their hospital room and meal costs paid for, and they will be paid the difference between what they are eligible for and the actual cost.
"We will also pay the cost of stay in Intensive Care Unit (ICU), hospital services and supplies, surgery costs, specialists' fees, pre-admission consultations with specialists and diagnostic tests," he added.
Syed Moheeb explained that for the pre-admission diagnostic tests, the clients will be paid the difference between their eligibility and the actual costs.
Other benefits include pre-surgery specialist consultations and diagnostic tests, specialist calls during hospital stay, outpatient treatment for emergency cases, emergency dental treatment, traditional medical treatment and daily cash allowance for stays in government hospitals.
Clients are also eligible for expenses incurred for homecare, lodging expenses, government service tax, payment for medical records, organ transplants, outpatient cancer treatment and dialysis treatment for kidney patients.
At the function, Takaful Ikhlas presented 10 wheelchairs to the Melaka Health Department under its corporate social responsibility programme.
Takaful Ikhlas is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MNRB Holdings Bhd and began operations in July 2003.
